Storyboard: Maya wakes up to a dark, wet Sunday morning, the heavy June monsoon rain already beating steadily against her window. As she drinks her morning coffee, she glances at the calendar — the month is almost over — and takes her time over her coffee.

പുറത്ത് നല്ല ഇരുട്ടാണ്.It is very dark outside.
ശക്തമായ മഴ പെയ്യുന്നുണ്ട്.Heavy rain is falling.
ഇത് ജൂൺ മാസത്തിലെ മഴക്കാലമാണ്.This is the June monsoon season.
മഴവെള്ളം എന്റെ ജനലിൽ അടിക്കുന്നു.The rainwater beats against my window.

ആ സമയം എനിക്ക് ഓർമ്മ വരുന്നു.I remember that time.
ഞാൻ വീണ്ടും പുറത്തേക്ക് നോക്കുന്നു.I look outside again.
ആ മരങ്ങൾ കാറ്റിൽ ആടുന്നുണ്ട്.Those trees are swaying in the wind.

Storyboard: With nowhere to be, Maya takes the ferry across the water to Fort Kochi for a slow Sunday outing. She checks the time, noting that the heavy rain stopped just twenty minutes ago, and enjoys the cool, breezy ride across the harbor.

Storyboard: Near the ferry landing, a small Sunday market is underway despite the wet streets. Maya drifts from stall to stall — fruit here, woven baskets there — asking the seller about this basket in her hand and that bigger one hanging behind him, and she picks up a packet of the cardamom tea her mother asked about a few weeks ago.
ഞാൻ ഫോർട്ട് കൊച്ചി ബോട്ട് ജെട്ടിയിൽ ഇറങ്ങുന്നു.I get off at the Fort Kochi boat jetty.
അവിടെ അടുത്ത് ഒരു ചെറിയ സൺഡേ മാർക്കറ്റ് നടക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.A small Sunday market is happening nearby.
മഴ കാരണം റോഡിൽ നല്ല വെള്ളം ഉണ്ട്.Due to the rain, there is a lot of water on the road.
എങ്കിലും, അവിടെ കുറെ ആളുകൾ ഉണ്ട്.Even so, there are many people there.
ഞാൻ ഓരോ കടയുടെ മുന്നിലൂടെ നടക്കുന്നു.I walk past each of the stalls.

"ചേട്ടാ, ഈ കൂടയ്ക്ക് എന്താണ് വില?" ഞാൻ കടക്കാരനോട് ചോദിക്കുന്നു."Brother, what is the price of this basket?" I ask the seller.
"അതിന് നൂറു രൂപ," അയാൾ മറുപടി പറയുന്നു."For that, one hundred rupees," he replies.
അയാളുടെ പുറകിൽ ഒരു വലിയ കൂട തൂക്കിയിട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.A big basket is hanging behind him.
"ആ വലിയ കൂടയ്ക്കോ?" ഞാൻ അത് ചൂണ്ടിക്കൊണ്ട് ചോദിക്കുന്നു."And for that big basket?" I ask, pointing to it.
"അത് ഇരുന്നൂറു രൂപയാണ്," അയാൾ പറയുന്നു."That is two hundred rupees," he says.

Storyboard: Suddenly, the skies open up and a heavy monsoon downpour begins. Maya hurries along the street to find cover and decides to duck into the nearby Indo-Portuguese Museum to wait out the weather.
ഞാൻ ഫോർട്ട് കൊച്ചിയിലെ തെരുവിലൂടെ നടക്കുന്നു.I am walking along the street in Fort Kochi.
പെട്ടെന്ന് ആകാശം ഇരുളുന്നു.Suddenly, the sky gets dark.
ശക്തമായ മഴ തുടങ്ങുന്നു.A heavy rain begins.
ഇത് ജൂൺ മാസത്തിലെ മൺസൂൺ ആണ്.This is the June monsoon.
അഞ്ച് മാസം മുമ്പ് എനിക്ക് ഈ മഴയെക്കുറിച്ച് അറിയില്ലായിരുന്നു.Five months ago, I did not know about this rain.

ഞാൻ ആ കെട്ടിടത്തിന്റെ അടുത്തേക്ക് ഓടുന്നു.I run towards that building.
ഞാൻ വേഗത്തിൽ മ്യൂസിയത്തിന്റെ വരാന്തയിൽ എത്തുന്നു.I quickly reach the museum's porch.

Storyboard: Shaking off her umbrella in the dry lobby, Maya buys a museum ticket, takes a brochure from the friendly clerk, and heads into the main exhibit hall on the ground floor.

കുറച്ച് മിനിറ്റുകൾക്ക് മുമ്പ് ഞാൻ പുറത്ത് വലിയ മഴയിലായിരുന്നു.A few minutes ago, I was outside in the heavy rain.
ഞാൻ ടിക്കറ്റ് കൗണ്ടറിലേക്ക് നടക്കുന്നു.I walk to the ticket counter.
അവിടെ ഒരു ക്ലാർക്ക് ഇരിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.A clerk is sitting there.
അദ്ദേഹം എന്നെ നോക്കി സന്തോഷത്തോടെ ചിരിക്കുന്നു.He smiles at me happily.
"ഒരു ടിക്കറ്റ് വേണോ?" അദ്ദേഹം ചോദിക്കുന്നു."Do you want a ticket?" he asks.
"അതെ, ഒരു ടിക്കറ്റ് വേണം," ഞാൻ മറുപടി പറയുന്നു."Yes, I need one ticket," I reply.
ഞാൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് അമ്പത് രൂപ കൊടുക്കുന്നു.I give him fifty rupees.
അദ്ദേഹം എനിക്ക് ഒരു ടിക്കറ്റും ഒരു പുസ്തകവും തരുന്നു.He gives me a ticket and a book.
"അതെന്താണ്?" ഞാൻ ചോദിക്കുന്നു."What is that?" I ask.
"അത് ഈ മ്യൂസിയത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഒരു ബ്രോഷറാണ്," അദ്ദേഹം പറയുന്നു."That is a brochure about this museum," he says.
"പ്രധാന എക്സിബിറ്റ് ഹാൾ എവിടെയാണ്?" ഞാൻ ചോദിക്കുന്നു."Where is the main exhibit hall?" I ask.
"ആ ഹാൾ താഴത്തെ നിലയിലാണ്," അദ്ദേഹം മറുപടി പറയുന്നു."That hall is on the ground floor," he replies.
ഞാൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തോട് നന്ദി പറയുന്നു.I say thank you to him.
എന്നിട്ട് ഞാൻ ആ ബ്രോഷർ തുറക്കുന്നു.Then I open that brochure.
ഞാൻ താഴത്തെ നിലയിലുള്ള പ്രധാന ഹാളിലേക്ക് നടക്കുന്നു.I walk to the main hall on the ground floor.
history exhibit
Storyboard: Maya spends a peaceful hour exploring the exhibits while the rain hammers the roof. She studies some old artifacts, reading a plaque about a Portuguese trade ship that sank hundreds of years ago, fascinated by the deep history of the port.

അത് ഒരു പഴയ പോർച്ചുഗീസ് കപ്പലിനെക്കുറിച്ചാണ്.It is about an old Portuguese ship.
ആ കപ്പൽ നൂറുകണക്കിന് വർഷങ്ങൾക്ക് മുമ്പ് കൊച്ചിയിൽ വന്നതാണ്.That ship came to Kochi hundreds of years ago.

Storyboard: Leaving the museum after the rain finally stops, Maya takes a late afternoon walk along the Fort Kochi promenade by the Chinese fishing nets. She looks out over the water, feeling deeply settled and at home compared to the anxious newcomer she was five months ago.
