Storyboard: The first pre-monsoon rains finally broke the intense Mumbai heat overnight. Maya wakes up feeling terrible, realizing immediately that her health is not fine today, suffering from a heavy head and a blocked nose.
मी सकाळी उठते.I wake up in the morning.
खिडकीतून थंड हवा आत येत आहे.Cold air is coming in through the window.
काल रात्री मुंबईत खूप पाऊस पडला.It rained a lot in Mumbai last night.

Storyboard: Maya finds the contact number for a nearby neighborhood clinic and makes a phone call. She speaks politely to the receptionist to explain her situation and successfully books a morning appointment to see the doctor.
आज ऑफिसला जाणं शक्य नाही.Going to the office today is not possible.
मी फोन हातात घेते.I take the phone in my hand.
मी मोबाईलवर जवळच्या क्लिनिकचा नंबर शोधते.I search for a nearby clinic's number on my mobile.
मला नंबर मिळतो आणि मी फोन लावते.I find the number and make a call.
"नमस्कार, हे क्लिनिक आहे का?" मी विचारते."Hello, is this the clinic?" I ask.
पलिकडून एक महिला बोलते, "हो, नमस्कार मॅडम."A woman speaks from the other side, "Yes, hello madam."
"मला आज डॉक्टरांना भेटायचं आहे," मी तिला सांगते."I want to see the doctor today," I tell her.
"मला सर्दी झाली आहे आणि माझं अंग दुखतंय.""I have caught a cold and my body aches."
"आज सकाळची वेळ मिळेल का?""Will I get a morning time today?"
ती विचारते, "हो मिळेल, तुमचं नाव काय आहे?"She asks, "Yes, you will, what is your name?"
"माझं नाव माया आहे," मी उत्तर देते."My name is Maya," I answer.
"ठीक आहे माया मॅडम, मी तुमची वेळ निश्चित करते.""Alright Maya madam, I am confirming your appointment."
"तुम्ही सकाळी साडेदहा वाजता यावं," ती नम्रपणे सांगते."You should come at half past ten in the morning," she says politely.
"हो, मी साडेदहा वाजता तिथे येईन.""Yes, I will come there at half past ten."
"खूप धन्यवाद," मी म्हणते आणि फोन ठेवते."Thank you very much," I say and hang up the phone.
आता मी हळूहळू बाहेर जाण्यासाठी तयार होते.Now I slowly get ready to go out.

Storyboard: Knowing she cannot take the bus to the office in this condition, Maya messages her colleague Rohan. She explains that she has caught a bad cold and will be taking a sick day to stay home and recover.
मी माझ्या पलंगावर बसले आहे.I am sitting on my bed.
बाहेर पाऊस पडतो आहे.It is raining outside.
आज घरी राहणं गरजेचं आहे.Staying home today is necessary.
माझा घसाही दुखतोय.My throat is also hurting.
मी आज ऑफिसला जाऊ शकत नाही.I cannot go to the office today.
या अवस्थेत मी बसने प्रवास करू शकत नाही.In this condition, I cannot travel by bus.
म्हणून मी माझा मोबाईल हातात घेते.So, I take my mobile in my hand.
मी माझ्या सहकाऱ्याला, रोहनला मेसेज टाईप करते.I type a message to my colleague Rohan.
"हाय रोहन, मी आज ऑफिसला येत नाहीये.""Hi Rohan, I am not coming to the office today."
"मला खूप सर्दी झाली आहे.""I have caught a bad cold."
"माझं अंगही दुखतंय.""My body is also aching."
"मी आज सिक लिव्ह घेत आहे.""I am taking sick leave today."
"मी घरीच थांबून आराम करणार आहे.""I am going to stay at home and rest."
मी तो मेसेज रोहनला पाठवते.I send that message to Rohan.
काही मिनिटांतच त्याचा रिप्लाय येतो.In a few minutes, his reply comes.
"काळजी घ्या, माया.""Take care, Maya."
"तुम्ही आज पूर्ण वेळ आराम करावा.""You should rest completely today."
"ऑफिसची काळजी करू नका.""Do not worry about the office."
मी रोहनला थँक्स म्हणते.I say thanks to Rohan.
आता मी क्लिनिकमध्ये जाण्याची तयारी करते.Now I get ready to go to the clinic.

Storyboard: Maya puts on a light jacket and steps out into the cool, damp morning air. The streets smell of wet earth from the fresh showers as she walks slowly toward the clinic, feeling aches throughout her body.
मी आता क्लिनिकला चालले आहे.I am going to the clinic now.
पावसानंतरची हवा दमट आहे.The air after the rain is damp.
प्रत्येक पाऊल जड वाटतं.Every step feels heavy.
माझं डोकं खूप जड झालं आहे.My head has become very heavy.
मी माझं हलकं जॅकेट घालते.I put on my light jacket.
आणि घराबाहेर पडते.And I step out of the house.
रात्री खूप पाऊस पडला.It rained a lot during the night.
त्यामुळे उकाडा थोडा कमी झाला आहे.Because of that, the heat has lessened a bit.
बाहेरची हवा थंड आणि ओलसर आहे.The air outside is cool and damp.
रस्त्यावर ओल्या मातीचा छान सुगंध येतोय.There is a nice smell of wet earth on the street.
पण आज मला काहीच छान वाटत नाहीये.But today nothing feels nice to me.
माझे पाय खूप दुखतायत.My legs are hurting a lot.
मी रस्त्यावरून खूप हळू चालतेय.I am walking very slowly down the street.
क्लिनिक माझ्या इमारतीजवळच आहे.The clinic is very close to my building.
एरवी तिथे पोहोचायला फक्त दहा मिनिटे लागतात.Usually, it takes only ten minutes to reach there.
पण आज हा रस्ता खूप लांब वाटतोय.But today this road feels very long.
मी माझं जॅकेट घट्ट धरते.I hold my jacket tightly.
मला फक्त लवकर डॉक्टरांकडे पोहोचायचं आहे.I just want to reach the doctor quickly.

Storyboard: Inside the small, busy clinic, Maya takes a seat in the waiting area. She watches an elderly man coughing and a young mother comforting a restless child while she waits patiently for her name to be called.
मी क्लिनिकमध्ये पोहोचते आणि आत जाते.I reach the clinic and go inside.
क्लिनिक लहान आहे, पण तिथे खूप गर्दी आहे.The clinic is small, but it is very crowded there.

थोड्या वेळानंतर रिसेप्शनिस्ट माझं नाव पुकारते.After a short while, the receptionist calls my name.

"तुम्ही आता आत जावं.""You should go inside now."
मी हळूहळू उभी राहते.I stand up slowly.

मी डॉक्टरांना भेटण्यासाठी केबिनकडे जाते.I go towards the cabin to see the doctor.
explaining the symptoms
Storyboard: Sitting across from the doctor, Maya explains exactly how she has been feeling since the morning. She points to her head and throat, describing the severe pain and the heavy congestion she is experiencing.
मी डॉक्टरांच्या केबिनमध्ये जाते आणि खुर्चीवर बसते.I go into the doctor's cabin and sit on the chair.
डॉक्टर हसतात आणि मला विचारतात.The doctor smiles and asks me.
"काय होतंय, माया मॅडम?""What is happening, Maya madam?"
"तुम्हाला बरं वाटत नाहीये का?""Are you not feeling well?"
मी नकारार्थी मान हलवते.I shake my head.
"नाही डॉक्टर, मला अजिबात बरं वाटत नाहीये.""No doctor, I am not feeling well at all."
"सकाळपासून मला खूप सर्दी झाली आहे.""Since morning, I have had a severe cold."
"तुम्हाला ताप आहे का?" डॉक्टर विचारतात."Do you have a fever?" the doctor asks.
"हो, माझं अंग खूप गरम लागतंय," मी सांगते."Yes, my body feels very warm," I say.
मी माझ्या डोक्याकडे बोट दाखवते.I point to my head.
"माझं डोकं खूप दुखतंय.""My head is hurting a lot."
"माझं नाकही पूर्णपणे बंद झालं आहे.""My nose is also completely blocked."
डॉक्टर लक्ष देऊन ऐकतात.The doctor listens attentively.
मग मी माझ्या घशाला हात लावते.Then I touch my throat.
"आणि माझा घसाही दुखतोय.""And my throat is also hurting."
"तुम्हाला खोकला येतोय का?""Are you coughing?"
"हो, काल रात्रीपासून मला कोरडा खोकला येतोय.""Yes, I have been getting a dry cough since last night."
"माझं पूर्ण अंगही दुखतंय.""My whole body is aching too."
"हा पावसाळ्याच्या सुरुवातीचा त्रास वाटतोय.""This seems like the trouble of the beginning of the monsoon."
"तुम्ही आता घरी जाऊन पूर्ण आराम करावा.""You should go home now and take complete rest."
मी होकार देते आणि डॉक्टरांच्या पुढच्या सूचना ऐकते.I agree and listen to the doctor's further instructions.
the doctors advice
Storyboard: After a quick examination, the doctor reassures her that it is just a seasonal viral infection and writes a prescription. He advises her that she should drink plenty of warm water, eat light food, and rest as much as possible.

मी थोडी शांत बसते.I sit calmly for a moment.

"पुढचे काही दिवस तुम्ही फक्त हलकं अन्न खावं.""For the next few days, you should eat only light food."
"आणि तुम्ही जास्तीत जास्त आराम करावा.""And you should rest as much as possible."
मी त्यांचे बोलणे लक्ष देऊन ऐकते.I listen to his words carefully.
ते मला औषधांचे प्रिस्क्रिप्शन देतात.He gives me the medicine prescription.
"ही औषधे तीन दिवस घ्या, तुम्हाला लवकर बरं वाटेल.""Take these medicines for three days, you will feel better soon."

Storyboard: Leaving the clinic, Maya stops at the neighborhood pharmacy on her way back. She addresses the chemist as 'bhaiya', hands over the doctor's prescription, and purchases her prescribed tablets and a bottle of cough syrup.

काऊंटरवर एक तरुण माणूस उभा आहे.A young man is standing at the counter.

मी डॉक्टरांचं प्रिस्क्रिप्शन त्याला देते.I give the doctor's prescription to him.
तो प्रिस्क्रिप्शन लक्षपूर्वक वाचतो.He reads the prescription carefully.
तो म्हणतो, "मॅडम, दोन मिनिटं थांबा."He says, "Madam, wait for two minutes."

Storyboard: Maya returns to her quiet flat and takes her first dose of medicine. Her kind neighbor Asha knocks on the door briefly with her dog Moti to check on Maya's health, before leaving her to finally get into bed and sleep.

मी माझी औषधं टेबलावर ठेवते.I keep my medicines on the table.
मी दमलेली आहे.I am tired.
